What have been the successes in the implementation of the Key Stage 3 National Strategy:

1. The adoption and use of structured lessons: Starter activities, Main activities, and Plenary sessions

2. The focus on WALT ( What I am Learning Today)  and WILF (What I am Looking For): Aims and objectives for the lesson, and the evidence teachers look for to evaluate learning.

3. The increased use of  ICT to aid knowledge and understanding.

4. Structured schemes of work based on the QCA Schemes of Work.

5. Increased focus on SC1 (Investigative Skills)

6. Informing pupils of their targets and guidance/support to achieve higher levels of attainment.

7. Increased use of formative testing (Assessment for Learning)

8. Use and implemetation of intervention strategies

9. More focus on contemporary issues and science in the 21st century

10. Implementaion of  transition schemes of work from KS3 to KS4 (How Science Works)
