The Science Faculty has ten laboratories, three at Broadway, and seven at Upper School. At Upper School, the laboratories C1, C2, P1 and P2 are all situated on the upper level. Laboratories AL1 and AL2 are situated on the lower level, on the same corridor as the technology rooms.

The laboratories AL1, and AL2, were originally designed for A-level groups, and are unsuitable for classes in excess of 20-25. They are only suitable for some Year 10, Year 11 and A-Level classes. However, in recent years AL2 has been used for classes of 30.

When Year 9 science classes are timetabled, they normally use all five laboratories P1, P2,C1 ,C2 and B. In the previous years, this has presented a problem with other 'blocked' classes. In 2006/7, Year 9 is not blocked against Year 10 and Year11. This eases the situation somewhat, although classrooms will still need to be used sometimes, instead of laboratories, In order to gain access to laboratories for experimental investigations, teachers must negotiate, in advance, any possible room/laboratory changes. In this respect, some flexibility must exist within the timetable, in the best interests of science education.
